Game of Life

This game I've played age after age
With tinsel bought, sold and bartered,
Plodded on from birth to birth-
Crying, suffering, longing for all I'm worth,
My captive heart knew not Truth,
Your realm of light was hidden.
You gifted me burdens to carry, to bear
How cruel was your kindness!
They helped me tear
My veil of ignorance,
To burn my dross in consuming fires
To cleanse my vision.
Celestial light came pouring,
Honey sweet and warm,
Bathing my days in joy,
Shadows depart as mists
In face of rising sun; I saw.
Your smiling face.
