The Secret

Do you know what it is
 to die beofre you're dead?
Do you know the secret
of living when life has fled?

When tears flow into a haze,
When words get lost in maze,
When you've finished your stay,
When there's a path without a way

That's when you learn
to die before you're dead;
That's when you learn the secret
of living when life has fled.

Do you know the way
to resurrect to life?
Do you know how to live
despite a life of strife?

When smiles turn on like evening lights
When all your thoughts are bright,
When every day begins anew
When frowns have bidden you adeu

That's when you learn
the way to resurrect your life ;
That's when you learn the secret
of living despite a life of strife.

The Twins

When I love I long for you,
When I hate I fear you'll win;
Love or Hate hardly matters
for they are twins.

When I hope I don't see shadows
When I despair I can't feel Spring
Hope or Despair hardly matters
for they are twins.

When I laugh, no one sees tears
When I cry , laughter's within
Laughter or TEars hardly matters
for they are twins.

Don't close your eyes

When love dies,
 or friendship wanes
severe those ties;
 don't close your eyes.
When petals fall,
 writing's on the wall
Don't live a lie;
don't close your eyes.
When weather's changed
and future's arranged
Don't throw the dice,
don't close your eyes.

Where I stand

Let me lose my way
to find my path,
Let me move away
to know my hearth;
Don't lead me on
Don't guide my steps
Don't hold my hand
when you see I've wept
Let me be; please set me free
And I'll get to know where I stand.

Let me fly high
to test my wings,
Let me laugh and cry
till my heart wrings,
Don't lead me on
Don't guide my steps
Don't hold my hand
cause I've overstepped
Let me be; please set me free
And I'll get to know where I stand.

The Betrayal

Cassius, Casca, Metillus, Cinna-
their knives plunged deep,
they drew blood;
yet Caesar stood unfazed:
An inner strength, a bent of mind
Steadily Caesar gazed.
Resolute that stance
Full blooded roar
"One smite from me
you'll bleat no more."
On their faces cunning smiles
they had read his loving mind;
for Brutus closed in from behiond
to strike; no blood flowed-
only a river of pain
screamimg, unrestrained
"Why, Dear One?
Why did you srtike?
What did I do
that was not right?"

There was a Time

When Love bloomed and laughter flowed,
When hearts rejoiced and innocence glowed;
When thoughts were wild and shackle free
When whirlwinds had not shaken trees;
When words were precious, as silver or glod
When minds stood fast fast, they were not sold;
When dreams were woven in bright hues
When ways of past fell in disuse;
When lives were wont to take new shapes
Whennew beginnings were not sour grapes;
When we met in joy, in peace
When loves were young, and filled with ease.

I've Grown Accustomed

I've grown accustomed
To the thorns in my path
To the throbbing in my heart
To days on days of noons
To nights without a moon.

I've grown accustomed
To deafening silence around
To hours that keep me bound
To my solitary days
To mirror images that stay.

I've grown accustomed
To Hopes that never sprout
To battles that end in rout
To the tolling of knells
To peels of parting bells.

I've grown accustomed
To horizon of azure skies
To pale lights as clouds rise
To changing winds of Time
To dawns with no climes.

I've grown accustomed
To riding waves on battered boats
To toss and turn to stay afloat
Tosmiling as bees sting
To see dead dreams take wings.

I've grown accustomed
To losing at turn of dice
To opening heart to pay price
To laughing at Fortune's command
To bearing blows of demands.

I've grown accustomed
To building roofs that crumble down
To wearing my thorny crown
To living life that's betrayed
To falling and rising, unfazed.

A Hundred Dreams

A hundred dreams, shuttered in eyelids,
Straining to spill out;
Dreams, fragile as petals
Momentay as dew
Fragrant and vibrant hued
A hundred dreams.

A hundred dreams shattered in hearts
Crying to relive
Dreams, fragile as petals
Momentary as dew
Fragrant and vibrant hued
A hundred dreams.

A hundred dreams dying undergroung
Untended, as garden of yore
Dreams, fragile as petals
Momentary as dew
Fragrant and vibrant hued
A hundred dreams.

A hundred dreams aching inside
Unable to flow, unable to part
Dreams fragile as petals
Momentary as dew
Fragrant and vibrant hued
A hundred dreams.

My Rainbow Days

My rainbow days brimmed with laughter bright
My rainbow days suffused with light
My rainbow days sunlight warmed
Oh those rainbow days are gone, they're gone.

My rainbow days o'er shadowed by clouds
My rainbow days wrapped under a shroud
My rainbow days that could not prolong
Oh for my rainbow days I cry, forlorn.

When I'm in the woods, when I can't see
Those rainbow days come back to me
The smell, the feel, the innocent fun
Of my rainbow days that now stay shunned.

When lights go out, when the past lay dead
My rainbow days still play in my head
A haunting melody circling around
My rainbow days that have run aground.
