Winds of Change

I used to be honeydew, love of your life

Winds of change came a blowing

And I hit delete button since you left me

All those words of love, the vows made

They're erased, have lost their space

Only an icy void remains cold as a grave

I've tried to lite a flame within

Stave off the cold with unreal hopes

Each day that goes by hardens my freezing heart

And I bid adieu as each hope dies.

I'll let the river flow wherever it needs to go

After these waters sink into the sea

And sun sets behind our eyes

We'll meet again on the other side.

When im gone

When I'm gone left this world behind

Floating into a fading sky

Perhaps become a speck of dust

Somewhere in the vast universe

Or a tiny dot of twinkling light

Far far away from human sight

Will you know me then, will you love me again

Enclose me in a shell, gently

To grow into a teardrop pearl

Or will you dust me off the face

Of your polished  hearth

Will you look up to find my face

Etched among the stars

Still echoing your heartbeats afar

Or will you fail to find me

In remote constellations of stars

Will you hide in a rising tide

To reach my yearning heart

To pull me close, hold me to your heart

Or let me orbit eternally, stay afar.

Rewards

There are those that stand out, those that shine

Their every step resounds with accolades

Heaven itself eager rains blessings on them

Then there are those that light up momentarily

Fireworks in the sky, gone in twinkling of eye

They too draw admiration, a look of wonder

For that one moment lived in limelight

What of  also rans, those that stretched to their limit

May be carried on doggedly till the last breath

Those that battle on each day, head bent, shoulders taut

What reward for their courage, what recognition

Awaits them save empty stands as they reach finish line

Bedraggled,  drained, yet soaring in spirit

Perseverance their medal, won in silence unnoticed.
