Claimed Space

This space I claim
To sing, to sigh, to breathe
Cloistered and bound have lived
A thousand lives
Stuffed into boxes, misshapen clod
Here I'll free limbs
To soar in skies or fall to ground
No shame; no tutored words
Heart aglow, mind uncluttered.
Welcome in to share the joy
Freedom to be and let be
Look not for control
For power to hold captive
Puppets on strings
Dancing at your will
Come rather to nourish
And be nourished
To blossom on branches of same tree.
