A Plea to Lost Love

Love, don't come to me again

False smiles eschew

Love, don't poison me again

Don't bring deaths anew

World's a wide open space

I'll walk away

Wander at will in wilderness

A hundred miles a day.

Love, don't hold me close again

Grant me respite

Love, don't burn me up again

For your delight

Life's a beauteous place

I'll drown in new hues

Come afloat once more

In emeralds and blues.
