Asifa

 Asifa, we beseech you

Do not fade away

Make us drink our tears

Let our ears ring with your screams

May our senses imbibe your pain

Our beings tremble with your terror

Maybe, just maybe

That will rouse dead souls

Maybe, just maybe

That will penetrate stupor

So that we pick up

Blood stained stons

That bludgeoned you

To hurl them back

To make you the new Sati

To begin a new dance

Our own Tandava.

Asifa, it was your age

To play with dolls

To run and skip

To imbibe the world;

They turned you into a rag doll

 Grabbed and kicked

Your blood they spilled

To fulfill filthy aims:

Your screams mingled

With their chants

O may this give birth

To voices filled with rage

Asifa, dont't fade away

Stay behind, show us the way.
