Repercussions

You did not heed, O gods of Indralok
While mortals groaned and cried
While lust and hate swept earth
While innocents were brutalized and killed.
You turned blind eyes, O gods of Indralok
While rampant rage ran amok
While helpless pleas filled skies
While parched lips and bulging eyes died.
Your heaven you thought secure
Your thrones everlasting
Mired in pleasure, drowned in wealth
In silo of power you lived, O gods of Indralok
As venom flowed and swept and flooded
As venom rose higher even higher
Reaching exalted spaces, touching untouched grounds
Swarming like locusts shadowing blue skies.
Whither now, O gods of Indralok?
None to stand by, none to come to aid
With silence, you killed those that could come to aid
Apathy stole your grace, inaction dug your graves.
