The Great Betrayal

Cassius, Casca ,Metellus, Decius
Their knives plunge deep
They draw blood
Yet Caesar stands unfazed.
An inner strength
A bent of mind
Steady, Caesar's gaze.
Resolute that stance
Full blooded that roar
"One swipe from me
You'll bleat no more."
On their faces cunning smiles
They've read that royal mind
Brutus closes in from behind
To strike a fatal blow
No blood flows
A river of pain
A silent scream
Unrestrained
"Why, Dear One?
Why do You strike?
What did I do
That was not right?
Caesar's frame falters and falls
Undone by cruelest blow of all.
